How FateSpectrum Works

FateSpectrum is not a pile of calculator widgets: it is one personal profile read through many traditions. Below are the five steps from birth data to your personal synthesis — every step here corresponds to something actually implemented.

1. Your personal data

Birth date, time and place (optional gender and a Chinese name — the Five Grids system uses it). The place resolves to an IANA timezone plus latitude/longitude.

2. Calendar & astronomical calculation

This step decides the quality of every system's input: solar terms are computed astronomically (the year pillar flips at Lichun); hour pillars use true solar time — local clock + the equation of time + the longitude offset; historical DST gaps and overlaps follow the rules in force at the time; planetary positions come from our in-house ephemeris.

3. Traditional system calculations

Each tradition is computed by its own methodology: BaZi by the Ten Gods, Five-Tigers rule and hidden stems; Zi Wei by its star-placement rules; Vedic by the sidereal zodiac and nakshatras; Human Design by type, authority and centers. Engines run independently — one failing never blocks the rest.

4. Individual interpretations

Each system first speaks for itself, in its own language. These interpretations stay intact — the synthesis never rewrites them to force agreement.

5. Spectrum synthesis

The synthesis layer puts each tradition's key factors to a vote on four temperament axes. Where several traditions point at the same theme, it shows the evidence; where they split, it names the tension. Different traditions use different frameworks — what FateSpectrum surfaces is what recurs across those frameworks, not a scientific validation of any of them.
